This past Sat. I set out for Baltimore with Brian & Monkey in tow. Besides visiting Brother #1 who attends Loyola, we were heading to the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ fest.
I've participated in other beerfests and always thoroughly enjoyed myself. It's like an open bar for 4 hours, who doesn't have fun?
I had chosen our hotel based on price and the fact that I could bring Monkey - who BTW did awesome for the 3 hour drive. Turns out the venue was basically across the street. Bonus!
After a short wait - Bri, bro, his g/f, and myself were handed our tasting glasses! Woo!
Our first stop was Jim Beam. I was nervous - I had no chaser and I'm a lousy shot taker. I opted for the "Red Stag" version and was pleasantly surprised. After countless beers we tried some BBQ - very tasty. Back to the beers. It really did take us almost the whole 4 hours to try everything out. Last stop was Brian's favorite, Makers Mark. This stand also dipped your glass in wax just the bottle. Hence the photo.
Overall we had a really good time - def. recommend people to try it out.
One of my favorite incidents of the day - my brother was getting sloppy and starting to spill. When called out on it, his response was to really shake the glass and to proudly say "I make it rain allllllll day." Super, lol.
Great prelude to the evening ahead...
